Of the many attractions at the 39-acre resort, known as 'The Jewel of the Desert,' the spa is a highlight. It is a cool oasis that offers an abundance of therapies that include a surprising number of marine-based treatments. But among the most intriguing choices is the Cactus Flower Wrap that uses only natural elements, such as a humectant from the prickly pear cactus and native Arizona grain, to enable your body to absorb these moistures found only in the Sonoran Desert.

Since its opening, Arizona Biltmore has hosted every US president and a who's who of Hollywood stars and dealmakers, and many an informal business meeting took place on its saguaro-studded, 18-hole golf courses. Though not the architect of record, Frank Lloyd Wright was a consultant, and his influence is evident throughout, from the Chicago Midway Garden Sprite sculptures he designed in 1914 that grace the premises to the hues and design of the guest rooms. Most notable, perhaps, are the 'Biltmore blocks' made of desert sand with 34 different geometric patterns, often seen in Wright-designed private residences and used in buildings.
